What We Have Learned ⭐

Advertise

Advertise to lower-division courses. Many of our members are underclassmen, so promoting entry-level courses is a great way to build your community and help students get involved early.

Consistency

  1. Keep weekly meetings. Even if only a few attend, consistency builds community.
  2. Hold regular leadership meetings. A weekly check-in helps keep everything running smoothly.

Student-led production model

At Boulder, GUT-C! Productions is run entirely by students! Scripts and crews are elected each semester, then committees carry out production.

Scheduling

Schedule more time than you think. Always leave space for reshoots or unforeseen issues.

Budgeting

Budget carefully. Set budgets for each committee to distribute resources fairly.

Bring in guest speakers

Most artists are generous and will say yes if you ask.
